The best way to start off my first blog, is to bitch out a group of people that really piss me off, Protestors.
Last week in the Toronto Star newspaper there was an article about protestors knocking over one of the torch bearers for the Olympics, while she was carrying the flame. Frankly, I could really care less about the Olympics, just not my cup of tea. But this was this ladies moment in the spotlight, a chance to represent her country, and carry the Olympic torch. It will forever be burned in her memory, as the moment she was toppled by protestors.
I have no problem if people want to hold signs, hands, and chant slogans to get their message across. But the moment they start negatively impacting the lives of others they have crossed the line from protestor to asshole.
Every protestor has their cause that they are standing up for and thats fine. Make your point in a civilized manner, and move on. Do you really think that toppling a torch bearer, or blocking traffic, or whatever else you do is really going to win you any points in the eye of the public? My immediate guess is would be no. Every time i see some type of illegal protest going on, I could care less what their cause is. All i'm thinking is, "what kind of asshole topples the torch bearer?".
Protest within the rules and you'll bring more awareness to your cause, and maybe even some support. Act like a bunch of morons and mess up shit for everyone else, well, all you've done then is create a bad(or worse) name for yourselves.
Man protestors just piss me off!!!
